All things Plasti Dip Empty All things Plasti Dip

So I mentioned the carbon fibre look at the last meet and a few people sounded like they were interested so I thought I'd share that video as well as some of the other ones from this site on Youtube. It pretty much shows you how to do just about anything with Plati Dip. Enjoy!

Also I thought this would be a good thread for all things related to Plasti Dip, so post your favorite links, tips and tricks here!

You know me, I f*cking love my plastdip.

This video is bad ass.. Not sure if I'd want to do it on any exterior parts but maybe trim on the interior.

My only tip is if you get a "tear" from peeling masking tape off, take a fine brush with some paint thinner and just brush it on the tear-- the thinner re-liquifies the plastdip making it easier to repair the tear... this also works if you get "globs" on your project (usually happens when the can runs low) kind of like my roof... I didn't hear about the thinner trick until it was too late but for future reference.

I will be purchasing a dip sprayer as well, I want to redo my roof. So if anyone wants to help pitch in for the sprayer I'd be more than happy to dip your car parts.

There is something about spraying "look alike" carbon fibre that just makes me cringe. If you really want carbon just buy carbon weave in a sheet and lay it over your trim and resin over top. Non the less this video was pretty cool. Plasti dip seems to lay really well over things.. I kind of want to bomb my stock wheels in plasti dip black because i know i can take it off again!

3m carbon wrap is really nice actually. They also sell carbon weave, just the cloth, you can resin over top of it. Looks great!
