Swiftscooby's 02 WRX build
Hey Everyone!
I finally had some time to put up some pictures of my build. Once i have some more time and nicer weather i will post more!
Here is a bit on how ive aquired my Project and where im at.
I Bought the Car about 4 years ago. I am the third owner. The second owner lowerd the car, put a Manual Boost Controller and an Espelir 3" Turbo Back Exhaust system on it. ( which sounds like heaven! a nice deep rumble at idle and a wicked rumble at the higher RPM range )
I bought the Car with 135,000km on it and it is my daily driver.
The first thing i did was replace the airbox and replaced it with a K&N Cold Air Intake setup, along with a JDM STI hoodscoop and KYB coilovers. After awhile i vowed to replace the suspension with something better!!
I finally save up last year and drove my car down to Rocket Rally in Squamish while i went back up north for a long stretch of work!
While it was there I got Rocket Rally to Install brand new KW Variant 3 Coilovers with Group N Top mount rubber!, as well as Subaru Group N Black 4 pot and 2 pot Brake calipers, StopTech Powerslot Rotors, Stainless brake lines and Hawk brake Pads.
As i had 195,000km on it now, i also had them do the major engine service, Spark plugs timing belts, pullys, waterpump, thermostat ect...
once they were all done, i had them Tune it with a COBB Accessport and a nice Stage 2 Tune! I also bought a pair of used Bride Racing seats with Sliders from a guy who was redoing his 02 scoob as a Rally build at the shop.
I also got a new front bumper with brand new fog lights.
Pat figured id be around 280hp, but wouldnt be quite sure untill i get it on a dyno.
The car handles and drives like Go-Kart on steroids! i love it!, i had to exchange the Hawk Brake pads for StopTech Pads because i was getting a brake squeal. the Hawk Pads were slightly larger than the Rotor surface, therefore creating a lip on the pad creating the squeal. With replacing them with the StopTechs's, problem was solved as they were the right size
I havn't decided on my next step, if i should in the future do the STI swap and bolt ons, or go all out and get a pure Cosworth engine and go from there!!
i am riding on 18's, 255's.
i plan on one day buying the 02 WRC Widebody kit from FourStarMotorsports and slapping on 295's!
anyways, here i am, and saving up again!!
also, if anyone knows of someone with an STI and wants to do a Trunk and wing Swap let me know! as i dont want to drill holes in my trunk, much more easy to swap the whole thing
enjoy the pics! ill try and post more soon!
Cheers,

Long block, Long block, Long block!! buy a cosworth crate! if you do an sti you would have to do the mains anyways to avoid rod knock which will put you at close to a cosworth already. But nice car, its super clean. Beautiful coils btw, and nice to see someone properly upgrade their braking, and suspension system before trying to make higher hp numbers. Cant wait to look at it closer up in person.

We would have to check, You would like one the whole length of the rear? Give me a measurement and we will look at having one made. We do have a 21 inch sticker made right now though.

This weekend because it's easter will be a late Saturday night meet.. thinking 8pm McArthur Island Park by the BMX track.
I have a 21" decal already printed. If you want bigger we'll have to get it made.
